Bronx has been really sleepy the last couple of days and hasn't been interested in eating. He got up to 45cc on his feedings and then decided he was too worn out to keep having his feedings increased. Over the last day and night he hasn't nippled more than 30cc per feed and has had to have the rest given through his NG tube. He just acts so tired and exhausted, and if he is awake he just stares at you with his big eyes but doesn't really want anything to do with eating. They have started to fortify his feedings so that we only need him to take 43cc to be up to calories. He no longer has his IV and is keeping his temp up in the isolette, so as soon as he can get to full feeds he will be able to be moved into an open crib. We are hoping that in the next day or two he will be rested and able to start taking full feeds again. We don't really have an expected discharge date because it is all up to Bronx and what he is capable of doing. It could be within days or possibly a couple of weeks. We are hoping and praying for days!!:) We can't wait to have this little guy home with us!!

Prayers coming your way for that little sweetie! Hope he's home soon!
We've been on vacation for a few weeks and haven't been able to read your blog. What a story! I'm glad your mom came home in-time to help. Little Bronx is so cute, and if he's anything like his big brother, he'll be happy and growing in no time. Prayers are coming your way!
I'll hope and pray for days too! What a cutie!
It's so hard isn't it? I remember getting my hopes up so many times because one day your new little angel does so good and you're thinking, "okay only a couple days of this and we're out of here" only to find the baby completely tuckered out and unable to go home right away - darn it. I definitely learned patience through this process and had to remember that these little babies are only doing what they think they're supposed to be doing, sleeping (what they'd most likely be doing in your tummy), and as "ready" as our bodies or the baby thought they were to say "hello" to the great big world, they have to play a little catch up for coming early because they probably weren't quite ready (they're impatient themselves aren't they? :)
You are in our thoughts always and like you, we hope you get to take baby Bronx home as soon as possible. We admire how strong you've been through this struggle. As easy as you make it sound/look, I know it's difficult. We're praying for you as well. Take care!
