Day 19
Rebel did really good today with his feeds and only had a few, if any, cc's left over from each feed. He will hopefully be in a crib in the morning and one step closer to being discharged. Today he weighed 5lbs 3oz. We are trying not to get too excited, just in case he really isn't able to be discharged tomorrow.
Day 20
Rebel did really good again today. He was able to have his NG tube removed and was able to be put in a crib! Big things happening today. Because they just removed his tube and he is still having a few cc's left over each feed, they are wanting to keep him at least one more night to make sure he continues to do well. Thank goodness we weren't fully banking on him going home today, because the up and downs of thinking he may be going home get to be really emotionally draining! Hopefully he will be home soon though! He weighed 5lbs 4oz today.
Day 21
Rebel did really well through the night, but had a few cc's left over at the 0800 feed. We weren't really sure what the plan was because we hadn't talked to the pediatrician yet. At the 1400 feed, Dr. Denton called and wanted to talk to me to see what I was thinking and what we were planning. After discussing things with him, we decided to have him do the circumcision that afternoon and then they would watch him over night to make sure there weren't any complications and then plan for discharge in the AM! I was so excited to hear this and went home to finish preparing everything for his homecoming! What a little cutie. He weighed 5lbs 5oz today and did well with his circumcision.
