I was able to have a fun little girls weekend with a couple of girls from my ward; Ashlee, Jodi, and then Jodi's sister Cassia. We decided we thought it would be fun to do The Dirty Dash down in Midway and it turned out being a blast. We drove down Friday afternoon and stopped a few places to shop and then picked up our packets for the race, in Sandy. We then ate and headed to our hotel in Park City. That night, we stayed up late talking and eating a ton of junk food! We also spray painted the numbers onto our tank tops that we were wearing for the race, and may or may not have gotten hot pink and purple spray paint out on our balcony!:)

The next morning we got up and got ready and then ate breakfast. We drove to Midway to be ready to start our wave at 9:20. None of us had ever done this before so we weren't sure what to expect! The only rules of the race were: 1. Have Fun! 2. Get Dirty!
I could see that there was a lot of mud everywhere, but didn't know just how dirty we would get. The course was about 6 miles long and consisted of different obstacles, including, rope net climbing, crawling through water and mud filled canal pipes, trudging through muddy water that was waste deep, and having people fling mud at you and spray you with water along the way. We had a blast!:) I never knew that being muddy could be so much fun!

It is kind of neat because after the race they give you the option to donate your shoes and they will clean them and then donate them to countries in need.
The worst part of the whole race is the showers after. You could pay to wait in line for an hour to get sprayed off under a hot shower head, or just go to the community shower spouts where there was about 50 different hoses you could spray off with. We opted for that option. The problem was the fact that the water was ICE cold!! It was freezing!! And it seemed like it took forever to get all of the mud out of our hair and clothes, etc. MISERABLE!! It took me forever to get warmed up again!:) The shower back at the hotel felt heavenly! Over all it was a fun weekend and I hope to be able to participate in another Dirty Dash! Definitely a fun and unique experience!:)
