Tyson and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on June 9th! We were fortunate to be able to spend a few days in Jackson, just the two of us. Thanks mom for watching the kids!:)
This was the first time that Tyson had ever been to Jackson and I hadn't been since college, so it was a fun little trip! We first went to Teton Village and looked around the little shops. We decided that since the forecast was supposed to be rainy and cloudy the next few days, we better ride the tram since it was fairly clear. It was so beautiful up there and an awesome view of the valley. It was freezing up at the top and there was still quite a bit of snow! Brrrrr!
The next day we slept in, (which was awesome), and decided to go to Jenny Lake. The weather as we were driving there was a little bit cloudy, but sunny for the most part. As soon as we got to Jenny Lake to get on the fairy boat to go across, it was a downpour and freezing! Luckily Tyson and I had a seat in the front of the boat so we didn't get too wet. Once we were across the lake we hiked up to the hidden falls. The further along we hiked, the harder it started to rain. And then there was hail. And snow. It was quite the adventure! I wasn't necessarily dressed the best for hiking either, but didn't once complain! Tyson told me I am probably the only person that has ever hiked up there in heel boots!:) There were a few slick parts that were a bit of a challenge, but nothing bad!:)
After walking up to the falls, we headed back down to catch the next fairy across. As soon as we were across and the lake was mostly out of sight, the sun came out and it turned into a perfect day! I told Tyson I will have to show him a picture of Jenny Lake on the Internet so that he can see what he was supposed to be seeing, instead of a fogged in lake that you couldn't see across!:)
That night we were able to go to the Bar J Wranglers, which is always a treat! They are so entertaining and the food was great! We both enjoyed the show and had 3rd row seats! It was really fun!
The next day before we headed home, we went to Jackson Square to look around some more. We had been there the first day and Tyson had his eye on some Texas long horns that he wanted to buy! We went back and they just happened to be there still! (I doubt Texas long horns are a hot item that they can't keep on the shelf!:) Tyson purchased his horns and then we headed out! I will have to get a picture and post them! They are really cool looking....they just don't match the rest of the decor in the house!:)
On our way home, we decided to take a little detour to see Lake Palisades. Tyson hadn't been there since he was little and since we were so close we figured we better stop!
I am so grateful for Tyson and for the wonderful companion that he is! I love that he is my best friend and that we have so much fun together. He always knows how to make me laugh and smile! I love that he is such a hard worker and wonderful dad to our two, beautiful boys! The last five years we have been extremely blessed and hope the years to come are just as wonderful!
