Rebel- Day 2

Day two we were still in the hospital and would go over to the NICU every 3 hours to feed little Rebel. The night before, both of us were exhausted and didn't go over to see him during the night, but we were both super excited to go over and see him the next morning. We were able to keep him out of his isolette for about 30 minutes at a time and we took advantage of the full 30 minutes!:)  We were mesmerized by how well he was doing and just couldn't help but stare at how perfect and little he was the whole time.  They placed a feeding tube and we were able to start him on formula that day, taking 5cc every feed, which is only a teaspoon.  Seems like such a small amount, but for him I am sure it was a lot of work! They check his residual before every feed by drawing back from his feeding tube and every time he had digested all 5cc, so he was able to nipple all of his feeds, both during the day and all through the night!  He weighed 4lbs 2oz that night!
We had visitors throughout most of the day, though I wasn't able to get a picture of all of them, and it was nice to feel so supported and loved.

Later that night, my parents brought Teague and Bronx in so that we could see them. We were really starting to miss them since it had been a few days since I was admitted to the hospital. It was so much fun being able to snuggle with them for a little bit and we were even able to take them into the NICU to see Rebel for a few minutes. Bronx kept smiling and pointing at him and was so excited! Teague was also excited and kept saying how cute baby Rebel was! I feel so privileged and blessed to be the mother to these cute boys!
Teague got to go back in to the NICU a second time, when I took my mom in to see Rebel and he loved every minute of it. He kept touching Rebel's head and holding his hand and even gave him a kiss on the top of his head!  It was so fun seeing how excited he was about being a big brother and having a new baby!

One of the nurses, who is one of my friends, that was taking care of Rebel, told me that she didn't like his name and so she decided to give him another name: Max!  She had to be sure to make him a name tag with his "new" name as well!:)
