Tyson and I had the opportunity to go to Las Vegas for a few days for a nice little get away. A big thanks to my mom and dad who agreed to keep the boys for us while we were gone!:) Vegas was AWESOME! We didn't do anything out of the ordinary, but just being in 80 degree weather, sleeping in and eating out every meal was amazing!!:) I dropped the boys off with my parents on Saturday and then Tyson and I flew out of Idaho Falls on Easter Sunday after he got off work. After a few flight delays, a long wait for our rental car, and then a long, long, long, line of wait to check in to our hotel....we finally were in our room and settled around 4 Sunday afternoon. We were both starving and so we went to P.F. Changs and pigged out and then just walked the strip a little bit that night! Tyson has always wanted to see David Copperfield, the magician, so we went over to the MGM and priced out tickets. It was about 20 minutes before his show was about to start and I asked if they by chance had two tickets by each other left for that night!! They just so happened to, so we decided we might was well just go to it then since we didn't have anything else planned for the night! It was a really good show and Tyson loved every minute of it! He continued to talk about the show for days to follow, just trying to figure out how he did all of his tricks! Haha!
Here is our rental car! When I booked the car I had just said a compact car since it was just the two of us, so Tyson was pleasantly surprised when he had more leg room than expected!:)
We stayed at Treasure Island and this was our room:
We walked the strip every night we were there and I think we had to have walked 3 or 4 miles every night! I can't believe how many tacky people there are in Vegas! Haha! Such a great place to people watch!
Here is our hotel:
Here are a couple of pictures from one night walking! The strip was always busy with people and taxi filled streets!
My favorite part of the whole trip was being able to relax by the pool every afternoon. The weather was perfect every day for just lounging around. Tyson was such a good sport and even came down and sunbathed with me!:)
On Tuesday night, we were able to meet up with my Aunt Tarri and Grandma Dolph who happened to be down in Vegas the same time we were. We went out to dinner and then walked the strip a little bit. My grandma wanted to show us inside the Venetian so we went in there and visited for a little bit! It was fun being able to see them while we were there!
I felt left out because I didn't have matching hats like they did!:)
Wednesday was our last day there. We went shopping to a few different outlet malls and then went and walked through a few more of the hotels!
Here is a picture of Tyson in front of one of the fountains at Mandalay Bay! Isn't he handsome?!:)
Later that day after laying out by the pool again, we decided to go drive and find the temple! I wasn't able to get a good picture of it because of the sun but wanted to remember it none the less. The landscaping was so pretty and it's so neat seeing how different all of the temple landscapes are according to their specific region/climate! Next time we go to Vegas, we will definitely have to plan to go do a session while we are there.
We got back home on Thursday afternoon. We were definitely ready to be home to see the boys, but weren't ready to be back in cold weather!:) At least we got a little bit of sun to start us a tan! Not much...but some color! When we picked up the boys, neither of them were excited to see us. They both started crying and wanted my mom! I guess that means they must have had a good time while we were away!:)
It was such a nice little break from reality to be able to be away and I am glad that Tyson and I were able to spend some alone time with each other! Sometimes I think we are just so busy with life that we forget how nice and important it is to continue to build our relationships with each other!

I love this post! I'm so glad you were able to go to Vegas (and a little bit jealous haha!) Looks like you had a fun and relaxing time, which is the best kind of vacation if you ask me :)
Sounds like a fun (and much deserved) get-a-away! I only have one kid and feel like Derrick and I need to spend more time together, just the two of us! You always look so cute Melis. I need to get tips from you on "how to dress cute during your pregnancy" when the next time comes!
