We hope that
this letter finds you all in good spirits this holiday season. Hard to believe
that another year has passed and we are preparing for yet another gym
membership come the first of the year (seriously, spend your money on something
elseJ).
This past year has been a fun one, to say
the least. It seemed like we were constantly on the go. We enjoyed a few getaways
such as Island Park for last year’s New Year, one in which Teague stole the
show and probably would have won us a lot of money had we sent in the video to Funniest
Home Videos. We were also able to go on a trip back up to Washington to visit
friends and family in May. In August we were able to make our first trip to Fort
Morgan, CO to visit my brother and his family. It only took us 4 yrs to get
there, but it was a lot of fun. In November, we were able to go to Boise with
most of my family to enjoy a weekend together. We were able to go to the Boise
State football game and also spend quality time together. (Yes, we are BSU fans).
I swear our family is the definition of “Road Warriors” since it seems like if
we aren’t working or sleeping, we are driving!
Bronx turned one in August and has given
us a lot of laughs lately. He didn’t quite catch on to the sleeping through the
night concept until about 10 months…..HUGE milestone. He used to be the
quietest baby ever and didn’t say a thing until about October. Now the kid is talking up a storm, has some
attitude of his mom’s, and finally is getting stranger anxiety. It’s been fun
watching him develop and finally gain some identity the past few months. He
loves to follow Teague and do whatever he is doing. They take turns terrorizing
each other.
Teague just had his 3rd
birthday in December. It’s hard to believe he will be in Primary next
year. It may throw a damper on his
enthusiasm for church attendance, but I think he will survive. He loves his
toys and is Mr. Energy. He never takes naps, always runs from point A to point
B, and loves his movies! His new crush as of late is Princess Sofia, so sorry
ladies, he is taken!
Melissa never wastes a minute of her life.
I have never met someone with as much energy as her. If she isn’t making
crafts, she’s doing one of the following: cleaning, laundry, shopping,
blogging, cooking, playing with the kids, spanking the kids, or training for
the Boston Marathon (JK). She has been on a running kick lately and actually
ran a half marathon in October. She works about 2-3 days a month at the
hospital in labor and delivery. I think that is her sane time! She is the life
of the party at our house, for sure.
I have been enjoying life this past year.
I work in the ER at the hospital and love my job and the people I work with. I
try to get out to the ranch and help dad a day or two a week. I was able to
reach a big milestone as well back in November as I was able to quit/delete Facebook
cold turkey. J About the only downer for me in 2012 was the fact
that Obama was re-elected! I have been blessed with a great wife and kids and
all I could ask for is for them to be healthy, which they have been. We have
been blessed this past year and look forward to seeing what 2013 has in store
for us.
May God bless us all in our endeavors and
may we all remember Christ this holiday season.
With Love,
The Wheatley Family
Tyson, Melissa, Teague, & Bronx
